Operation: Overkill
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
Operation: Overkill is a FPS Dungeon-Crawler Roguelike. It is set in a lab filled with evil scientists, and the goal is to cause as much havoc as possible with your throwing knives while clearing deeper and deeper levels into the lab. The lab floors are procedurally generated, ensuring a fresh dungeon layout every time.
In the same roguelike spirit, Operation: Overkill features a highly modular item system, where item bonuses can range from simple stat ups to greatly modifying the projectile or player's behaviour. Each floor features a treasure and a shop room where the player can find some of these items and dominate the lab!
Floor progression is guarded by a challenging boss enemy, who does not take too kindly to the destruction and chaos caused by the player, and will pose a serious threat to progressing through the lab.
Right now there are only two floors of content finished, as this still is a work in progress (you can play the floors infinitely though). There are a few bugs here and there and some known balancing issues. The UI definitely leaves a little to be desired as well. But I would love to put more work into this project, so please let me know your thoughts below!
CONTROLS:
WASD Space - Movement
Tab - Expand Minimap
Left Click - Throw projectile
DEBUG BINDS:
G - Regenerate current floor.
T - Toggle adjacent doors. Good for the rare (but not impossible) softlock.
p.s. The Windows executable is called cursor_testing by the way, it is really annoying and I cannot figure out how to change it.
